Permanent or removable braces

Fixed braces are suitable for both children and adults. A permanent brace consists of brackets bonded to the teeth with arch wires threaded through the brackets which act to realign the teeth. The brackets can be made of metal or  ceramic, composit, monocrystalline sapphire.

Removable appliance are braces which are put in and taken out by the patient, and are used while children are growing. For them to work properly, they must be used as directed by the dentist. Depending on the problem, different types of braces can be used.

Before starting treatment, any existing dental problems must be treated, with plaque and tartar thoroughly removed, and you?ll need a dental pantomogram and cephalometric x-ray in order for an individual treatment plan to be drawn up.
